We produce 2, 4 & 5 tonne jacks for Military users, versions having seen successful use in actions over the past few years. The Military versions are built to more rugged specifications than the civilian versions, whilst being light and relatively compact.

With imagination, Air Jacks can be used for a wide variety of recovery tasks, such as that illustrated in the right hand pictures. Extracting a vehicle from a ditch or gulley can often be done by inflating the jack under the wheel, allowing the vehicle to be driven out.

The ELM02 is designed for most medium size 4x4 vehicles.
Here it is lifting a Supacat ATMP vehicle and, below, an early Light Strike Vehicle.

Our ELM04 4 tonne jack has been found to be very useful for armoured versions of off road vehicles, and many have proved themselves in action in the Gulf and Bosnia for vehicles carrying Diplomats or News gatherers.
Vehicles like this are often based on standard production vehicles, and consequently may be supplied with the standard vehicle jack or a similar but heavier capacity version.

In off-road conditions, however, as opposed to on hard surfaces, the bottle jack, scissor jack or trolley jack will be virtually unusable.

The ELM04 is preferred when vehicles are particularly heavily laden, as is the case in some specialised roles. Here it is lifting a 4x4 Pinzgauer, in very muddy conditions, to allow a wheel change.
|
|
It is also an ideal solution to lift or recover the Hummer (or "Humvee"). Here, the Hummer is being lifted by the ELM02, but the ELM04 would be found to be more suited to heavier variants.
It is also suitable for similar vehicles, such as the new FCLV type. Such a vehicle, with a maximum weight of almost 6.5 tonnes, would be handled easily by the ELM04.

Our ELM05 is designed to be used with compressed air, and can be used for certain very heavy vehicles such as APC's, where the suspension allows individual wheels to be lifted and held clear of the ground by mechanical means. We have demonstrated it's suitability for use in lifting any one of the wheels of the Alvis Piranha APC, on any surface, using the vehicle's on-board compressed air supply.

Pictured right, the Air Jack is being used to lift one wheel of a British Army Foden IM DROPS vehicle. Any one of the wheels can be lifted in this way. This requires a 5 tonne dead lift capability. The Air jack is able to do this even on soft surfaces such as sand, snow or mud.

It may be used for many heavy lifting jobs, however, and we would be very pleased to make suggestions for any lifting jobs that you have. We often surprise with our lateral approach to lifting problems.

Our Air Jacks are also extremely useful for lifting light aircraft or helicopters after undercarriage damage. In the case of helicopters, this may need to be done before landing - get in touch with us for a novel solution.
We have experience with a wide range of vehicles and are happy to design jacks for specific purposes.
